Nanhua Mountain Cultural Park in Fenghuang Ancient Town, Xiangxi Prefecture was opened to the public on July 14.
It’s a tribute to the artistic and cultural spirit of Huang Yongyu, one of the most productive and best-known artists in the second half of the 20th century in China, and is another cultural landscape of Nanhua Mountain after Sacred Phoenix Culture and Nanhua Zen Temple.
Nanhua Mountain is located at the south of Fenghuang Ancient Town, with a height of 700 meters. It’s China’s first phoenix culture experience scenic area, integrating diverse phoenix culture and mysterious Miao culture. Along the stone steps, one can see the statues of Huang Yongyu’s works and story introduction on both sides of the path.
The Nanhua Mountain Cultural Park is divided into four parts. The first part presents Huang Yongyu’s words about his hometown, emotions, inspiration, etc. The second part presents the portrait of Huang Yongyu and his works such as “The Twelve Zodiac Animals”. The third part showcases Huang Yongyu’s representative masterpieces in painting of various categories. The fourth part displays Huang Yongyu’s long-lasting friendship with Wu Qiqiang, chairman of Hong Kong Kaisun Holdings Limited.
